Heller Ford, Incorporated was founded on February 15, 1957 by Eugene Heller. He purchased the dealership from Foltz Motor Company, which was located on Main Street in El Paso. In the fall of 1962, a new building was built where the Shell Thrifty Mart is today.
In 1988, the west side of El Paso on Rt. 24 developed rapidly. I-39 was under construction, fast food restaurants and motels were being planned, and Heller Ford was building a new dealership at their present location. During this same time Heller Ford purchased Uftring Ford Mercury in Minonk, and moved it to our store in El Paso. The El Paso store then became known as Heller Ford Mercury, Incorporated.
Heller Ford-Mercury continued to grow under the leadership of Gene, Dan, and Marty Heller and their management team.
In November of 1995, Heller Ford Mercury purchased Bradley Motors in Pontiac, IL. Marty then moved to Pontiac and started Heller Lincoln-Mercury, located in downtown Pontiac. In the summer of 1996 the dealership (now called Heller Motors) purchased Dempsey Dodge, and moved into their facility on Ladd Street in Pontiac. In January of 1998 Heller Lincoln Mercury Dodge moved to their new location on Deerfield Road at I-55 in Pontiac.
In 2002, Heller Ford completed an extensive remodeling project that added 13,000 square feet to the dealership. At the same time, a Quick Lane franchise was added to augment the Service Department.
The leadership team at Heller Ford now includes Dan's sons, Neil and Adam Heller.
In August of 2009, Heller Lincoln Mercury Dodge acquired two more lines --- Chrysler and Jeep. The dealership is now known as Heller Motors.
The two dealerships, known as The Heller Stores, represent six makes of vehicles, and employs approximately 150 people.
